he's on free transfer, heavily linked with Vitoria Setubal for a January mercato move.

He left Standard Liege and as he was a non contract player at 01.09
he could sign here for any club and he was in talks with Vitoria of
Setubal
But he ask too too ... much and he club is near a bankrupcy so
I think they stay only in talks ... today the newspapers brought that he
broke the links with Setubal and could sign for a club from a list
of six countries !!! .. including Spain (Levante ?) , what seems very
unlikely as in the last years he has been a underrated player.

Yeh he received lots of offers from Russia, Aston Villa according to some press and Middle East countries, latest rumour was Setubal but it seems they didn't agree on his wages....we'll have to wait for the market to open

Marius Niculae heeft een nieuwe club gevonden. De 25-jarige aanvaller tekende maandag een contract voor zes maanden, startend op 1 januari 2007, bij FSV Mainz 05. De Roemeen was op zoek naar een nieuwe club nadat eind vorig seizoen Standard Luik zijn contract niet verlengde.

Marius Niculae got a new club. The 25 year old striker signed a 6 month contact with FSV Mainz 05, starting on 1 January 2007. The Romanian had no club after last season because Standard de Liège did not prolong his contract.

Could someone add this to the database please, thanks in advance.
