Hi folks,
I came across a unique story in a magazine about some determined people which I would like to share with you.
'Out of a gristy civil war comes a unique soccer league in Freetown, that fosters hopes.' This team consists of sons and brothers, husbands and fathers - who have lost an arm or a leg in Sierra Leone's 2nd year civil war, which started in 1991. They are also a part of the country's Single Leg Amputee Sports Club(SLASC), founded as the fighting was winding down with the help of Dee Malchow, a retired nurse from Seattle, USA.
Great guts...
The greater goal
