Hi there.

I check out the internet on DDR-Chronik from the DSFS. Can you tell me what kind of stats are in there? Do you have that books?
Soon i will start updating Ph again.

Cheers Ronald.

Hello Ronald,

yeah, I have all four books (http://rsssf.com/players/duit-players-lit.pdf) who are available at the moment ( http://dsfs.de/index.php?id=53). It contains apps & goals for each first and second level club (of course also results and tables) in a season, name changes for the first three levels, league results for the third and between 1955 - 1962/63 even the fourth division (then the Bezirksliga because of the existence 2. DDR Liga) and league tables until the Bezirksklasse (5th, after the 1963 the 4th division). Also all national team and olympic team line-ups, the line-ups of the East German clubs in the European cup competitions and the cup results for the relevant season. Really good books in my opinion and checked with contemporary sources from the team of collaborators.

Kind regards, Matthias

Hello,

now only fifty "not-with-all-the-DSFS-books-(DDR-Chronik)-checked-players" are existing when you select East Germany in the advanced search. It's going ahead. :-)
For West Germany we still have the one and only "locked" Zenon Ziembicki (see above) from Monsieur Mariën with the phrase "Polish parents who escaped products Poland ended up to Germany and later to Belgium."

Kind regards, Matthias

PS I entered some "FDGB- und DFB-Pokal(end)spiele" and will continue this and enter all the necessary (German) players who are still missing to have the complete line-up.

Update: And now seven new players from Mr. Huart with East German nationality appear in the Advanced Search - all from BSG Energie Cottbus in the 1981/82 season.
I will take care of them the next time I am in reach of the book "Ostdeutsche Traditionsvereine: FC Energie Cottbus" at home. Looking for other apps and goals than 1981/82 for Cottbus (and other clubs).
Otherwise only 33 players are still left. And of course the one ;-p with West German nationality.

Please add (see above) players only with German nationality.

Have a nice Sunday, Matthias

Update II: Zenon Ziembicki (http://playerhistory.com/Default.aspx?page=player_details&playerID=215290) is still locked by Mr. Mariën and - beside the West German nationality and birth place in 1946 - I still don't understand the sentence "Polish parents who escaped products Poland ended up to Germany and later to Belgium".
If you look in the Advanced search of the database for players with East German nationality you'll finde "only" 21 (including four new one from Mr. Lenourry in 2010) are still there. I am at it until the end of the year.

Cheers and have a nice (football) weekend, Matthias

Polish parents who escaped products Poland ended up to Germany and later to Belgium

I think it's a kind of English like the movies of inspector Jacques Clouseau

It's done.

All players which could be found under the nationality "East German" in the advanced search of our database - when I was beginning this project more than 300 players had this tag - are now changed to "German" and where checked with the following main sources

Deutscher Sportclub für Fußballstatistiken (DSFS) - DDR-Chronik: Band 1 (1949/50 - 1956), Band 2 (1957 - 1962/63), Band 3 (1963/64 - 1968/69), Band 4 (1969/70 - 1973/74), Band 5 (1974/75 - 1978/79), Band 6 (1979/80 - 1983/84) and Band 7 (1984/85 - 1988/89).
Nuttelmann, Uwe (Hrsg.): DDR-Oberliga 1962 - 1991, Jade 2007.
Leske, Hanns: Enzyklopädie des DDR-Fußballs, Göttingen 2007.
leske, Hanns: Vorwärts. Armeefußball im DDR-Sozialismus. Aufstieg und Fall des ASK/FC Vorwärts Leipzig/Berlin/Frankfurt, Göttingen 2009.

for additional data which weren't added when I "reached" the specific player.

The volume 8 of the DDR-Chronik from the DSFS will be published soon and will not only have the last two remaining East German season 1989/90 and 1990/91 but also a player ABC for all first (Oberliga) and second (Liga) division footballers (http://dsfs.de/).

Cheers and have a nice weekend, Matthias

PS When you'll use the advanced search for "West German" you'll still find the one and only (and still locked) Zenon Ziembicki ("Polish parents who escaped products Poland ended up to Germany and later to Belgium.")
