Swiss international Xavier Stierli played 2 games for RSC Anderlecht, in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, season 1969-1970 :
11.11.1969 RSC Anderlecht - Coleraine FC
20.11.1969 Coleraine FC - RSC Anderlecht
but apparently never played in the belgian league
I realize on his page ( http://www.playerhistory.com/Default.as ... erID=65525 ) he has not played for Anderlecht.
Is it a mistake ?
What happened with this player ? why did he play only 2 games for Anderlecht ?
Xavier Stierli

It was not Xavier Stierli, who was in the 22 World Cup Squad of 1966.
He played period 64/68 for FC Zürich as A International.
The player in fact was Pirmin Stierli, if I'm not wrong he is the younger brother of Xavier.
Pirmin Stierli came to Anderlecht from FC Zürich. After his unsuccesfull spell in Belgium he moved to Xamax Neuchâtel. In the summer of 1970 he went back to his original club FC Zürich and played there during the period 1970/76 where he was an A International.
Both were left-backs.
Hope this helps a bit.
