2 questions about Portuguese players:

1. What was the full name of the Goalkeeper of Porto who played a european game against Hannover 96 (11/11/1965). I have only DOMINGUES.

2. I have a source who mentions LORES as a substitute in a game for Benfica against Fortuna Dusseldorf (19/03/1981, at home), but is this correct ? Shouldn't it be LOPES (BASTOS), or something else or is it a mistake. He came on as a substitute after 90. mins for CARLOS MANUEL. If it was indeed LORES, what is his full name. I have 2 books about Benfica but they don't contain a subsitute in the line-up for the 90th minute of the game.

Thanks for BASTOS LOPES

Wasn't RUI Teixeira substituted during that game by DOMINGUES or is that a mistake ?

If the game played was a European Cup, Cup-Winners Cup or Fairs Cup match there should have been no substitutes as they were not allowed in official competitions in those days.

The match in question was played in 1981, and substitutes were allowed from the early 1970s at least.

But the game involving Domingues/Teixeira was in 1965 when there were no substitutes - which tends to support the fact that they are one and the same person

I have 3 sources. 2 don't mention the substitution.

The third source is "Barça Campeón, la storia della Coppa Delle Fiere" written by Carlo Fontanelli. I don't know if this source is reliable ?

The Porto v Hannover 96 game was an old European Fairs Cup second round match from 1965/1966 and substitutions were NOT allowed at that time. If a player (or players) was injured the team had to play on with 10 (or less) players.
