The board of the league of Ireland, declared that Dublin City's games be expunged from the records, ie, all their games will be lost and not counted, even the appearances of the players and goals involved in the game. They folded in mid July and this was the action taken. This decision was confirmed on Wednesday 16th August that the results do not count.

So what should be done, should their games be deleted form the database or kept and somehow ignore the stats form their games.

I dont think it would be either practical or desirable to ignore the stats from their games, despite the league of Ireland ruling. It would mess up the figures for all the other teams apart from anything else.

This is just my opinion. As an outsider looking in, the whole situation seems very unfortunate and disapointing.

It happened to Wigan Borough Accrington Stanley and Aldershot in England in the past. I'll remove the stats in the future from the player's page and put them in the notes.

Just in case you do not know the opposition stats also do not count.
