I finished my basic training. I recieved my turquoise beret (the artillery corps' soldiers in Israel wears those).
Here is a picture of my commander giving me his beret (he choose me from his crew).
I have to say goodbye

We did a journey to get the beret. each soldier in Israel do a journey at the end of his basic training (some does it on the end of the advanced training) and afterwards gets his Beret. We did a 20 KM journey of which 4 are with stretchers. Infantry soldiers do a 60 KM journey and some specials units does even 120 KM journey.
When I'm saying journey I mean a 6 KM/hr (before the stretchers) walk speed without stopping more than 5 minutes for drinking water and peeing.
and don't forget doing the journey with a vest, an helmet, and a weapon (thanks god I have a shorter Israeli version of M16).
