When did Oleg Salenko play for Ukraine?

I can see on his site, that he's listed for a game with Ukraine.. how come he played for them and when was it? He played for Russia in 94 and I though players could only switch nationalteam right after the nationalteam was created, and Ukraine played their first cap after the Russian break-up, in 1992.

Does anyone know?
