Bill Dowall No date of birth
1935-36 Bury 10-2 (first 2 matches + 8 in a row in March-April)
1936-37 Lincoln City 5-0 (first 3 matches ,1 in October, 1 in December)
1938-39 Notts County 6-0 ( 12th November + 11 Febr.-11 March) All as a fullback like his last appearance for Lincoln, the rest: All left wing
I have a Dowall playing for Motherwell 1929-1935. I have some Motherwell stats but I have strong doubts about their accuracy. He might have played for St. Mirren very shortly in 1934-35. I'll ask for more details about his Scottish career, he must be well known in Scotland, he scored a lot of goals in his first 2 seasons! If I don't get an answer I'll post the Motherwell stats I have.

Yes I read it. The 1933-34 teampicture is on page 102 of Seagulls! The story of Brighton & Hove Albion. Maybe he played for the reserves in the London Combination or he was on trial. I'll try to help, but it will be difficult.

He was known as Willie Dowall in Scotland. He was their regular centreforward until he lost his place to Willie McFadyen on Xmas day 1930. After that he played on both wings, in the 1931-32 championship season even right-back. He must have died before 1984. He didn't play in the 1931 and 1933 cupfinals.
