I would like to know if the Japanese national player Atsushi Yanagisawa was also in the Japanese World Cup squad of 1998 in France. On the official World Cup website http://www.fifaworldcup.com stands that he was in the team ( http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/de/w/p ... sushi.html ). It stands in the first sentence of the profile in German: "Der Stürmer debütierte in der Nationalmannschaft beim FIFA-Weltpokal France '98™ und kommt mittlerweile auf mehr als 50 Länderspiele."
But if you believe a German website, http://www.weltfussball.de , he was not in the team ( http://www.weltfussball.de/teams.php?m_ ... 19&modus=2 ). So who is right? Was Yanagisawa in the World Cup squad 1998 or not? Thank you for answer.

as far as I can see, he wasn't in the team

He was not in their WC squad. On the same page you can see he made his debut against Australia earlier in the year
