The statement in that paper that I mentioned above, and the interview was made by Liviu itself, the confirmation comes from Marc, the webmaster of Standard which is a copy of the passport has sought to Standard, and I am very sure that the story is true!
For me, the case is closed, even with Belgian players I took over National, is still fighting and I'm sure ...
If I am not in the National Register was everyone was 100% sure that the father of Guy Thys, Ivan Thys calls and not Ivan Thijs, and have dozens of examples in the history of Belgian football totally wrong, it has a reason and usually is that the player himself ...

Same like this, why he play on the first name, why registered on KBVB with that name, and why his name on national register different....

The same shit, why he play as Lavigne and real name is Lemaire...

In the romanian statistics books is Liviu Ciobotariu, those links aren't quite reliable because i'll bet you'll find both ways written there. On the official website of CS Otopeni (the team he's coaching right now) it appears to be - Ciobotariu (http://www.csotopeni.ro/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=41). On our football federation site it looks like to be Ciobotariu. It's also true that Ciubotariu is quite a common name when it comes to romanian football players - i can remember some of them like Valentin Ciubotariu and Alexandru Ciubotariu.

Bonjour,
Ciobotariu c'est correct. Ils existe aussi le nom Ciubotariu en Roumanie mais dans ce cas, de l’ancien joueur de Standard Liège, le nom correct est Liviu Ciobotariu.
Avec respect

Hi Luc
sorry for not answering to you
Romanian yearbook has Ciobotariu, I have the same, I opened a newspaper from 1998 and I saw Ciobotariu, so this must be his name. The name comes from the ones who made old shoes, maybe his grand-grand father made ciubote (simple shoes) and this name was changed a little.
regards
Romeo

I believe what the Standardman says, he has to Standard copy of the passport and that is an equivalent security as the register of the population, what people say of sites I would only believe if they were there in the registry, so keep Standard and I really like to Ciubotariu is. I do not think that the player remains in a newspaper as his surname is different than the actual report and conscience was
